ONE of the Parliamentary candidates for Leeds North West has been showing his support for a health charity.
Kamran Hussain, who is standing for the Liberal Democrats in the constituency, visited Leeds Marrow during its donor recruitment day.
The group is a student-run branch of the Anthony Nolan charity which works to save the lives of people with blood cancer who need a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
After his visit to Leeds Beckett University Mr Hussain said: βIt was a privilege to meet the volunteers. I was inspired by their hard work and dedication in raising awareness and funds for the stem cell register.
βI had the chance to chat to some of the volunteers about the work they are doing to save the lives of people with blood cancer. I hope the day was a massive success, building on the impressive record of Marrow Groups nationally in hosting 250 events and recruiting over 17,000 potential donors.β
