A LETTER has been sent out to all interested parties in the Sun Lane, Burley-in-Wharfedale, planning inquiry to inform them a decision on the 500 homes has been delayed.

The letter from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government states: “I am writing to you because you have an interest in the above called-in planning application. You may have previously been notified that the Secretary of State’s decision on this case would be issued on or before 17 October 2019.

“I am writing to let you know that, regrettably, the Secretary of State will not be in a position to publish a decision on the application by this date. I realise this will be disappointing news, and apologise for the delay in issuing a final decision on this application. I can assure you that we will endeavour to minimise the delay as much as possible.”

The public planning inquiry into the building of 500 homes on green belt land in Burley-in-Wharfedale took place in May.
