CHURCHGOERS from Guiseley and Esholt went to Rome for their parish’s annual pilgrimage.

Twenty-six parishioners from St Oswald’s, Guiseley, and St Paul’s, Esholt, took part in the trip - visiting many of the holy sites as well as historical locations over their four day stay.

One of the highlights of the visit was their reception at the Anglican Centre.

The group was the first to be welcomed by the new director Archbishop Ian Ernest, who had only started in his new post that day, flying in from his home on Mauritius the previous day. The group also attended the Tuesday Eucharist service.

A spokesman for the Guiseley and Esholt visitors said: “The group thanks the centre for their warm hospitality and wishes Archbishop Ian and Mrs Ernest a holy and fruitful ministry in their new posting.”
