THE assistant manager at Althams Travel on The Grove in Ilkley has raised £1,200 for Yorkshire Cancer Research by taking on a charity skydive.

Charli Hill decided to raise money for the charity following the passing of her father back in August 2014 after a short battle with lung cancer. “Since his death we have carried out several fundraising events and have managed to raise over £5,000 for various different cancer charities in my father’s memory,” she said. “The reason I chose to do a skydive is because it is something I have always wanted to do and as I am a bit of an adrenaline junkie. I thought why not especially when it is raising money for such a good cause! The skydive took place at Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham, near Lancaster on 8th September 2019 and we fell from 15,000ft, after a minutes freefall at 160mph you finally get the chance to take in the wonderful views over the East Coast.”
