THE winners of this year’s Ilkley in Bloom competition have been announced.

The annual competition honours the very best horticultural displays which help enhance Ilkley, both in the town centre and surrounding areas.

Entries were judged on many criteria including the visual impact of displays and the quality of plants.

Judges looked at the whole area (including boundaries) which should be weed and litter free and were looking for some plants to show all year round interest.

In the allotments category judges were looking for well looked after entries, showing an all round variety of good quality planting and weed free.

In addition this year the judges were looking for the inclusion of pollinators.

Honorary Secretary of Ilkley in Bloom Kate Brown said: “We were pleased with both the standard of entries this year and to have welcomed some new entrants.

“Winners will be contacted shortly to invite them to accept their awards at a Presentation Tea.”
