THE leader of the 1st Burley-in-Wharfedale Guides Sue Vint and her husband Gordon are opening their garden at 19 Menston Old Lane to the public on Sunday, September 1 from 1pm to 5pm.
Sue and Gordon have opened the garden many times. Sue said: “We are raising money for Burley Scouts & Guides new headquarters appeal. The HQ is finished and we just need to raise money to complete the car park, turning circle and landscaping. We are still fundraising very hard to raise the final amount of about £30,000. People love coming to visit the garden and we have our regular visitors. Its a fabulous event and everyone is very welcome! Burley Guides will be on hand to help serve teas and serve on the stalls. We look forward to seeing you!”
The garden is a delight for plant lovers with borders of unusual perennials and shrubs. There is a wildlife pond and a natural stream that runs the full length of the garden. Admission is £3 with under 16s free.
