A SIMPLE guide to walking the Dales Way in day stages using bus and train services has been published as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the 81-mile walk.

Colin Speakman, Chairman of the Dales Way Association and Vice Chairman of Friends of DalesBus said: “Many walkers wanting to walk the Dales Way may not have a full week available to do the walk but prefer to do it in day or weekend stages. Doing this the environmentally friendly way by using local bus and train services is an excellent way of experiencing the Dales Way and supporting local services, whilst reducing your carbon footprint.”

The free A5 guide is available at visitor information centres in the Yorkshire Dales, at the Dales Way 50 exhibition at the Manor House in Ilkley and can be downloaded at www.dalesbus.org/walks.
