1ST BURLEY-in-Wharfedale Brownies are proud to be celebrating their 100th birthday this year.
The unit first opened in 1919 and is still thriving in 2019 with 32 girls aged seven to ten meeting each week at the Guide and Scout HQ in Burley to enjoy fun activities, earn badges, help their community and go on adventures.
Brown Owl Sharon Hattersley said: “Brownies has changed a lot over the years and we would like to invite all our past and present Brownies, leaders, helpers and their families to join us for a celebration afternoon tea on Saturday, September 21 from 2pm to 4pm at the new HQ on Peel Place where we can celebrate all those changes together, share memories, make new ones and begin the next 100 years.
“We would love to hear from anyone who has been involved in any way with our group and we would especially love you to share any photographs you may have that we can use in our displays on the day.”
