A PLANTING and weeding party is taking place to help create a sensory garden at High Royds on Buckle Lane, Menston.

With all the stonework for the specially commissioned High Royds Sensory Garden now complete tons of soil and compost have been delivered and put into position.

Much thought has gone into selecting plants suitable for people who are sight impaired or who may have dementia problems.

These will be ready for planting on Saturday, June 15 between 10am and noon.

At the same time weeding in other parts of the Memorial Garden will take place to ensure it is at its best for an Open Day on Saturday, July 6.

Volunteers are invited to join the working group at the weeding and planting party on June 15 from 10am to noon.

The volunteers will carry out work to further enhance the three acre site which has become known, both locally and nationally, as an “Oasis of Peace”.
