FAMILY memories of Ilkley’s Wells House Hydro will be shared at the town’s local history hub this weekend.
The public are being invited to share their stories at an Ilkley Civic Society session in the Heritage Room at the Manor House from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, May 25.
A spokeswoman said: “Wells House Hydro was opened in 1856, designed by Cuthbert Brodrick who went on to design Leeds Town Hall. It was built by a group of Bradford business men. It went through many phases of existence before becoming apartments.
“Perhaps you went to college there when it was a ‘pud school’ or later when it expanded into a larger college. Perhaps your family has memories of events there before the Second World War, when it was a popular hotel, with its winter garden.”
