ILKLEY based Two Rivers Concert Band will be teaming up with the Chris Irvin Concert Orchestra for a joint concert at Otley Parish Church on Saturday,April 6.

The concert starts at 7.30pm, with doors opening from 7pm.

The Orchestra will play for the first half of the evening, followed by music from the Concert Band in the second half.

Both ensembles have chosen a wide variety of repertoire to play, an entertaining mix of more serious works and light-hearted pieces. There is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Tickets cost just £10 (£7 for unwaged and over 65s) and admission is free for young people under 16.

Interval refreshments are included, with delicious homemade cakes provided by band and orchestra members.

All profits from the Concert will go to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) to support their vital humanitarian aid work in crisis zones all over the world.

Christopher Irvin, the Orchestra’s Musical Director said: “We’re really excited to be working on this collaborative concert. It’s the first time the two groups have worked together. We’re all set for a really enjoyable evening both for our audience and for our musicians.”

Les Goldman, Chairman of Two Rivers Bands added: “Two Rivers Bands have made nearly £700 for MSF this year. We’re hoping this concert will help get our total to over £1,000. It’s great for us to have the chance to entertain and raise money for such a good cause at the same time.”
