THE VIEWS of Otley bus passengers have been sought again ahead of a further public meeting.
MP Alex Sobel (Lab, Leeds North West) recently organised a meeting in Headingley* to let constituents raise their concerns with representatives from First Bus.
The MP has now asked for a second event to be held in Wharfedale and local Labour campaigners have been out canvassing opinion.
They heard a number of complaints about the reliability of the First Bus X84 and X85 service between Otley and Leeds, and the 33 and 34 services linking Otley to Menston train station.
Labour’s candidate for the Otley and Yeadon ward, Otley resident Elliot Nathan, said: “I regularly use buses between Leeds and Otley and often experience late, missing and broken down buses. At a time when Otley’s population is expanding we need a public transport network that is reliable and fairly priced.
*First Bus said afterwards that the firm was working hard to make improvements.
