A FUNDRAISING walk at Otley has raised £425 for Behind Closed Doors.

Forty three people took part in the event on Sunday, December 9 when there was a choice of two routes - a circular, four mile walk or an eight mile trek through Clifton towards Dob Park and beyond.

Otley Town Mayor Councillor Mary Vickers - who is supporting Behind Closed Doors as one of her mayoral charities - welcomed those taking part as they arrived at the Buttercross.

The walks were led by Randal Metzger and Jur Keessen of Walkers are Welcome Otley.

Mr Metzger said: “The event was rated as highly enjoyable. The money raised will be used to support the organisation’s Prevention and Recovery Service which provides crucial, community based services to individuals and families whose lives are affected by domestic abuse.”
