HUNDREDS of pounds have been collected in Ilkley to help victims of disasters around the world.
The Rotary Clubs of Ilkley held two collections at Tesco for
Aquabox World disaster support - raising a total of £428.
Aquabox is a water filtration charity which was started by Rotary members 26 years ago.
It responds to humanitarian disasters around the world, sending its AquaFilters and humanitarian aid.
Since its launch Aquabox has sent more than 110,000 aid boxes to more than 50 countries around the world. Each Aquabox contains a water filtration unit, and aid including cooking utensils, hygiene equipment, tools, shelter materials, baby and children’s clothing and educational items.
The Rotary Clubs of Ilkley gave their thanks to Tesco and to Rotarians John Metcalf, Andrew Alison and Stuart Quarmby for organising the Collection.
