A WHARFEDALE arts centre is celebrating becoming an accredited Living Wage Employer.
Otley Courthouse has received a plaque from The Living Wage Foundation in recognition of its commitment to pay all of its employees the ‘Real Living Wage’.
Courthouse Chair David Robson said: “We’re really pleased and I think we’re only about the fourth organisation in Otley to have got this.
“It’s something we’ve been working towards.”
The Living Wage Foundation uses a Real Living Wage standard that based on annual calculations by the Resolution Foundation, and overseen by the Living Wage Commission.
The rate currently stands at £8.75 per hour for outside of London (compared to the Government’s £7.83 per hour ‘National Living Wage’ figure), and £10.20 per hour for London.
