THE FUNERAL of a 95 year old D-Day veteran will be held in Bramhope next week.
Tom Knighton Pridmore, a Legion d’Honneur recipient, died on Saturday, September 8 in Grove Park Care Home, Headingley.
Born in Bradford, Mr Pridmore joined the Royal Signals Regiment at 18 and was involved in the D-Day landings in Normandy, later serving in Malaya.
He returned to West Yorkshire and married his teenage sweetheart, Marian. The couple moved to Bramhope in 2002 but Mr Pridmore was widowed shortly before their Diamond anniversary.
His funeral service will take place at St Giles Church, Bramhope at noon on Monday, September 24.
