A WELL-KNOWN Addingham pub which has struggled in recent years will reopen under new ownership on Saturday, September 1.

The Craven Heifer has been taken over by Ilkley entrepreneur Gavin Patterson. Gavin said: "I moved to Addingham last year and I got involved with the Craven Heifer because, like most people I was fed up of seeing this beautiful local hotel and community pub being open and closed by a succession of previous business owners.

"The facilities at the Craven are amazing. We have seven beautiful themed en-suite letting rooms a cosy restaurant and bar and it’s been going to waste.

"I believe the people of Addingham deserve to have a consistent and committed management running the Heifer. The amount of local support I have received since announcing the takeover has been truly amazing."

Gavin plans to open on Saturday, September 1 at 7.30pm for an informal opening party with complimentary buffet. The pub will be open for accommodation and restaurant on Sunday, September 2 when it will be open for Sunday. Following the weekend the doors of The Craven Heifer will be open seven days a week, all day.

Last year Gavin took part in the BBC2 documentary Second Chance Summer Tuscany which aired in May 2017. Subsequent to the show he had started the Valeria Olive Oil company distributing Europe wide.
