OTLEY Bellman Terry Ford's winning streak shows no sign of ending.

Mr Ford was triumphant in last year's National Town Crier contest and has already won a couple of regional events in 2018.

Now he has added the biennial Lichfield Town Crier Competition to his victory list after impressing the judges on Saturday, July 7.

He said: "Conscious of a certain other event taking place that day - England versus Sweden in the football World Cup - we were able to keep the assembled crowds up to date with the first half of the England match!

"The competition was held at Speakers Corner in the centre of the city.

"I was declared the winner from a field of thirteen criers and reprised my winning proclamation in front of the imposing façade of Lichfield Cathedral."

Mr Ford was presented with his trophy and prizes in the Guildhall by the Worshipful Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor David Leytham, and Mayoress Councillor Jan Leytham-Gain.
