US President Donald Trump will reportedly bring his grown up children to Britain next month to experience the state visit with him.
Mr Trump will make his long-awaited three-day trip in early June, and his sons and daughters are expected to join him and wife Melania as guests at the traditional state banquet hosted by the Queen.
It is reported that Mr Trump’s daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, both advisers to the president, will be among his entourage. His other children, Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump, are also expected to join him.
The state banquet will be attended by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to reports.
The president and his wife are also reportedly due to visit Charles and Camilla for afternoon tea during the trip, which begins on June 3.
When the state visit was announced in April, Prime Minister Theresa May hailed it as an opportunity for the UK and US “to strengthen our already close relationship”, while the White House said it would “reaffirm the steadfast and special relationship” between the two nations.
But confirmation of the trip was condemned at the time by shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry, who said the president had “systematically assaulted all the shared values that unite our two countries”.
Security around the visit is expected to be tight and the organisation Stand Up To Trump has pledged to mobilise huge numbers to protest against it.
The official state visit welcome normally held in Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall is likely to be staged in Buckingham Palace’s garden due to security concerns.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment, while a spokesman for the US Embassy in London said it could not confirm the make-up of the president’s delegation.
