People were given the chance to “have a go” at new skills.

An abseil was part of an event at the Culture Fusion youth centre in Thornton Road, Bradford, which also included taster sessions in bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, plumbing and hairdressing.

Have a Go is a national campaign which celebrates WorldSkills London 2011. It aims to provide a million opportunities for people across the UK to try a new skill.

Bradford’s Have a Go event organiser Hayley Lomas, of Bradford College, said: “We have developed an exciting range of Have a Go activities to suit people of all ages.”

The event was organised jointly by Bradford College and Culture Fusion.
