ALMOST two thirds of people in Bradford have now been vaccinated against Covid-19.

The latest NHS data, to June 20, reveals that more than 305,000 people (65.7 per cent) in the district have now had at least one jab, with 220,037 fully vaccinated - 47.3 per cent of the population.

The figure nudges Bradford closer to the national vaccination figure, but the district still trails behind the 82.5 per cent first dose figure, and 60 per cent second jab figure.

Among the over 50s - the age group most at risk of dying from Covid - 88.8 per cent have now been vaccinated, with 83.5 per cent fully vaccinated, however it means more than one in ten over 50s in the district are still at risk from Covid.

More than 71 per cent of people in their 40s are now vaccinated, and 55 per cent of people in their 30s have had the jab.

In the under 30s, the age group last invited to get the jab at the beginning of June, a third have already had their first vaccine, with more coming forward to be protected from Covid-19 every day.

In the over 80s, 94.2 per cent have had their first dose, and 91.6 per cent are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

For people in their 70s, the first dose figure is 94 per cent, and second dose number is 91.9 per cent. For those in their 60s the first dose number is 89.5 per cent and second jab figure is 85.1 per cent.

Of those in their 50s the figure is 84.1 per cent getting their first dose, and 75.7 per cent have had their second jab.

For those aged under 50, the second dose figures are still well below the first jab numbers, but as more people under 50 get invited back for their second dose this number should rise sharply.

Across the district, Shipley and Keighley constituencies have vaccinated more than three-quarters of their whole populations, while Bradford East and West continue to trail behind.

The figures for each constituency in the district are:

  • Bradford East: over 50s first jab 85.1%, second jab 78.1% / total first jab 58.5%, second jab 39.6%
  • Bradford South: over 50s first jab 89.6%, second jab 85.2% / total first jab 68.7%, second jab 50.7%
  • Bradford West: over 50s first jab 81.2%, second jab 72.2% / total first jab 51.3%, second jab 33.6%
  • Keighley: over 50s first jab 91.8%, second jab 87.2% / total first jab 75.4%, second jab 56.3%
  • Shipley: over 50s first jab 93.5%, second jab 91% / total first jab 79.5%, second jab 61.4%
