RESIDENTS in two communities are being urged to have their say in referendums next month.
People living in Steeton with Eastburn and Silsden – and Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury – are being balloted about neighbourhood plans for their areas.
The referendums take place on election day, May 6.
Residents will be asked if they want Bradford Council to use the respective neighbourhood plans to help it decide on planning applications in those communities.
The plan includes policies on sustainable housing, conserving local heritage, the natural environment, protecting and promoting the countryside, ensuring new development includes suitable infrastructure, enhancing the viability of shopping areas, supporting economic growth and employment, improving the transport network, protecting and enhancing recreation facilities and supporting the growth of tourism.
Consultation was carried out with residents in drawing-up the plans, which have been in preparation since 2014.
