A KEIGHLEY charity is offering grants to good causes in the area.

Since it was founded a decade ago, the Asra Welfare Trust has donated several thousand pounds to a range of organisations – including Sue Ryder, sight airedale, Skipton Dialysis Centre and Airedale Hospital.

Now the charity has a total of £5,000 to distribute this year.

Trust co-ordinator Arshid Siddique – whose father, businessman Mohammed Siddique, was the founder – said: “Since it was established in 2011 we have given money to a wide range of charities.

“Funds are awarded regardless of religion or ethnicity.

“Our focus is on interfaith, health and wellbeing, tackling poverty, helping the vulnerable and needy, and children’s charities.

“We wish to help those who are most in need after the nightmare year we’ve experienced. Please get in touch if you could benefit.”

It is planned to distribute funds in the next few weeks.
