I READ with interest your recent story, Bypass is revealed as hotspot for speeders – referring to the Bingley bypass.
The article states that police caught 374 motorists exceeding the speed limit over a 12-month period and they appear to be “patting themselves on the back” for a job well done.
However, anyone who uses the bypass or resides in Crossflatts will know that they could have caught many more if they had chosen to clamp down on the speedsters. Motorists speed and race each other at all times of the day and night.
If the police choose not to take this far more seriously, why not simply install speed cameras?
