A PIONEERING scheme designed to promote reading and boost mental health during lockdown is proving a hit.
North Yorkshire County Council’s Select and Collect service has enabled people to continue borrowing books.
Customers phone or email their library with details of the type of reading they want, then collect a hand-picked selection of books.
Families have praised the service for helping to meet home schooling needs and improving mental health.
Libraries taking part include Skipton.
