A YOUNGSTER is marking his sixth birthday by taking part in a fundraising bike ride for Manorlands.
Sam Miles-Turner aims to clock-up 100 kilometres this month in support of the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.
He was inspired to take-up the challenge by his neighbour Pam Johnson, who completed a charity bike challenge to celebrate her 66th birthday last summer.
Sam, from Haworth, is setting out for a ride every morning before a day of home schooling.
“Sometimes it’s been hard – especially when it’s been snowing or icy – but I won’t give-up,” he said.
“I am raising money for Manorlands to help the poorly people.”
His mum, Nikki, said: “We have supported Manorlands through various events over the years – it holds a special place in our community.
“Doing his own fundraising bike ride was something Sam had talked about since last June. He is really excited to be doing the challenge.”
