AN empty car showroom in Keighley town centre can be converted into a restaurant after plans were approved by Bradford Council.

An application submitted by C Bailey last summer detailed how the former Pentagon car dealership in Worth Way would be transformed into a restaurant with 14 parking spaces.

The dealership sold Peugeot and Fiat cars.

Pentagon took over in 2013, but shut the site in March, 2018.

Planning officers said: “There would be some intensification of use of the access of the car park, however there would be likely busy times in the evening – when traffic levels and congestion are low.

“It is unlikely that the use will cause adverse impact, due to the off-street parking and car park available in close proximity to the site.

“Also, there are frequent bus services which can be used to access the site, with a number of bus stops in the surrounding area.”

The condition for opening hours is 4pm to midnight Monday to Thursday, 4pm to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 4pm to 11pm on Sundays and at bank holidays.
