PARENTS and carers buying items such as tablets, smart phones and game consoles for their children this Christmas are being targeted in a new West Yorkshire Police campaign.
Police are warning that whilst the internet is “a wonderful tool”, it also poses potential dangers.
“Parents and carers need to be aware that it is possible for people who are unknown to children to communicate with them via the internet,” said a spokesman. “Even games consoles are connected to the internet and can be used for communicating as well as playing games.”
