A YOUNG Keighley girl has lost her flowing locks to help others.
Evie Anderson, six, had spent more than two years growing her hair – which was down to her waist.
Now she has had it cut – at Kaos Hair Technicians, in North Street, Keighley – to help several causes.
The hair has been donated to the Little Princess Trust, which makes real-hair wigs for children who have lost theirs through cancer treatment or other conditions.
But Evie also carried out fundraising in the lead-up to the event for two charities, the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice Manorlands and the Kids Cancer Charity.
She raised £774, to be split between the two, through Go Fund Me and a donations jar at The George Hotel in Cullingworth.
Amy Anderson, Evie’s mum, said: “Evie’s hair was down to her waist so it was ready for the chop!
“We know times are hard so we really appreciate all the donations.”
As well as making wigs for children and young people aged up to 24, the Little Princess Trust also raises funds for research into paediatric cancer. For more details, visit littleprincesses.org.uk.
