A KEIGHLEY supermarket is extending its support of NHS staff.

Morrisons, in Worth Way, has announced that NHS workers will continue to receive a ten per cent discount on grocery shops.

The initiative, introduced in April as a thank-you to health service employees for their lifesaving efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, is to be continued indefinitely.

To receive the discount, people just need to present their NHS ID card in the store. The offer also applies to home deliveries.

In addition, Morrisons stages an ‘NHS hour’ at the start of every day, between 6am and 7am, specifically for health service workers. On Sundays, most stores open at 9am for the NHS.

David Potts, for Morrisons, said: “We want to continue to support all those in the National Health Service and show our appreciation for the fearless work they undertake.

“With hospitals again dealing with an increased number of coronavirus cases, NHS staff are supporting the country through the next stage of the pandemic. We hope that alongside our other measures, shopping can be a bit easier for them.”
