A SUTTON man has raised £12,520 for Manorlands by running 10km every day for a month.

Bobby Brown started his challenge on July 1 and ran along roads to outlying areas including Skipton, Keighley and Cowling.

He said: "I hoped to raise £3,000 but people just jumped on it and started sharing my social media posts.

"It was a bit of a buzz knowing that people were raising money - I knew I had to continue each day because people had put their hard-earned money forward."

Former Holy Family School student Bobby, 42, a pipefitter for Keighley company Powerrun, has done several long-distance challenges before, including the Great North Run, raising more than £10,000 for charity.

He chose Manorlands this time after hearing how it was suffering a massive drop in income due to the cancellation of regular fundraising events this year.

He added: "Trying to run 31 days on the trot his a unique challenge. It's something I've never done before."

Bobby paid tribute to those who had donated money, including regulars at the Reservoir Tavern in Keighley, Black Bull and Kings Arms in Sutton, and the Crown and Anchor in Rodley where a group of Leeds United fans raised £1,000.
