SOCIALLY-distanced theatre is promised outside the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield as the HandleBards, renowned for their productions of Shakespeare plays at outdoor venues, perform from August 1-9 in the theatre’s Courtyard.
The spokesman said: “What you get when three HandleBards are cooped up in a flat for three months during lockdown? An unhinged, laugh out loud and bonkers version of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet is what! “Although not a usual HandleBards outing, you can expect their irreverent, charming and hilarious style to come bursting into our Courtyard. Forget the tears and tragedy and get ready for some socially-distanced, live and wired Shakespeare as you’ve never seen it before.”
