A SILSDEN pianist was overjoyed to receive "absolutely awesome" feedback from TV personality Harry Gration about his recordings.

Stuart Langhorne, for the past 30 years the Steeton Methodist Church organist, sent his CDs of pop classics and Christmas music to the Look North presenter.

Stuart said Harry replied to say he enjoyed the CDs, adding: "You have lots of talent".

The accolade came after Stuart clocked up more than 5,600 views on YouTube for three videos of his performances in Haworth and Manchester.

Stuart said: "It's brilliant for my musical career having my work heard and appreciated by Harry Gration.. He's recognised the effort I've put in during the lockdown with getting my music out to a wider audience."

Stuart has lived in Silsden for more than 50 years, and has playing piano for his life, graduating from Leeds College of Music.

He specialises in popular songs and classical music. He has provided music for regular themed foodie events at Hettie’s Café Bistro in Skipton including Japanese, Italian and Yorkshire evenings.

Stuart last year released a CD entitled Christmas Celebrations, a seasonal journey of favourites from stage and screen. These include The Holy City, Silent Night, You’ll Never Walk Alone, Winter Wonderland, Wichita Lineman, White Christmas and You’re A Lady.
