COUNCILLORS have taken to the streets to chat to residents and listen to their concerns.
Pre-lockdown, Keighley West colleagues Adrian Farley, Paul Godwin and Julie Lintern held monthly surgeries at the town hall or at a venue within the ward.
But since lockdown began, they’ve had to look at alternatives.
“Our surgeries are always popular – people come with a variety of issues – so we decided to try street surgeries,” said Cllr Farley.
“The first, held last month around Bracken Bank, was a huge success. And again at the latest – in the West Lane, Raynham Crescent and Tarn Court area – we picked-up a lot of casework.
“For the time being we’ll be holding surgeries in this format and ensuring we get around the whole ward. But residents don’t have to wait for a surgery to speak to us - they can email or call us.”
