A LOTTERY that raises money for Oakworth Village Hall is continuing despite coronavirus. Oakworth Community Trust, which has organised the “incredibly successful” lottery for several years, is encouraging more people to sign up as members.

The volunteer-run trust said more than £1,000 had been won by local people, with half of proceeds going on prizes and half on the hall.

Keighley town councillor Luke Maunsell, acting chairman of the trust’s Marketing Committee, said: “The lottery is one of the best ways that you can contribute to the hall. For only £12, you have the potential of winning a helpful sum whilst also guaranteeing that a much loved, used and needed local resource stays open.

“Money from the lottery has contributed to the new extension, security systems and current renovations to provide disabled access. It’s a lifeline that gives out just as much as people give in!”
