EVERYONE’S favourite grumbler Jack Dee is returning to the stand-up stage with his first solo tour in six years.

Originally planned for this autumn, Covid-19 has caused its postponment until next spring, including a date at the Grand Theatre in Leeds on April 25.

Join Jack for an evening of entertainment as he hits the road with his eagerly awaited UK tour, Off The Telly.

Jack said: “In these difficult and uncertain times people need hope – a ray of sunshine to brighten their day. And that’s very much where I come in.”

Jack last toured a stand-up show in 2012, delighting sold out audiences the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Ireland over a period of 18 months.

This was followed by the release of his sixth stand-up DVD for Universal Pictures (UK) - Jack Dee So What? Live.

Star of TV sitcoms Bad Move, Lead Balloon and Josh, Jack Dee also hosts the legendary Radio 4 show I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

Additional credits include presenting C4’s The Jack Dee Show, ITV’s Jack Dee’s Saturday Night, BBC’s Jack Dee’s Happy Hour and Jack Dee Live at the Apollo.

“In fact,” explains Jack, “I’ve probably appeared in every TV show with my name in the title”.

Jack returned to the road after a six-year absence from stand-up with an 18-month sell-out tour in 2012/2013 which culminated in the release of his sixth DVD, Jack Dee: So What.

His last foray on to the live stage saw him bring a brand new type of live show to audiences in 2015 with Jack Dee’s Helpdesk.

Jack and his panel of special guests helped to shed light on an array of the audience’s personal problems, dilemmas and issues with nothing pre-planned.

Met with critical success, Jack Dee’s Helpdesk was commissioned by BBC Two and included series on the General Election, the US Presidential Election and the Brexit Referendum.

Other sidelines include motivational speaking, which Jack describes as “basically a total waste of time, talking to losers, but the cash is decent” and then adds “Don’t print that”.

It’s so hard to tell when he’s being serious.

Bromley-born Jack, 58, has been delighting audiences since he first appeared on the stage back in 1986 with an open mic gig at the Comedy Store in Soho, London.

Established as one of Britain’s well-loved and biggest comedy stars, Jack Dee has captured the imagination of audiences and critics with his dry humour and deadpan delivery.

Jack Dee - Off the Telly is billed as 14-plus because of swearing and adult content.

Meanwhile, singer Jane McDonald, who rose to fame as a star of fly-on-the-wall TV series The Cruise, has rearranged her planned concerts at Leeds Grand for June 6 and 7 next year. The title of the show is Let The Light In.

The Grand Theatre has contacted all people who had already booked this year’s original dates to outline options for rebooking.

The announcement of the concert tour came soon after Jane revealed she was quitting the popular television shows that see her cruising around the world.

The singer and presenter will no longer front Channel 5 favourites Cruising With Jane McDonald or Holidaying With Jane McDonald.

The star, 56, said she needed some time at home.

She said: “It has been a privilege to call this a ‘job’. After so many years filming abroad, I am looking forward to some much-needed time in the UK and to focus on my music and tours and exciting new projects.
