A ‘PAYMENT holiday’ for people in the district who receive adult social care services and make a funding contribution is coming to an end.

The holiday was put in place by Bradford Council to ease the financial burden during lockdown for individuals and families with additional care needs.

But with lockdown restrictions being eased, the reprieve will end on Monday, July 6.

Letters are being sent to those affected outlining the change.

And invoices for the remaining nine months of the financial year will be posted out.

“The invoices will tell those who receive the services how much their contributions will be – calculated on a weekly basis taking into account any changes in their care package,” said a spokesman.

“These invoices were initially due to be sent out at the end of March this year.

“Our services had to adapt or stop due to lockdown. But with the Government restrictions starting to come to an end, our adult social care services in home and community settings are returning towards normal levels of service.

“However those who only have a day care service will continue to have a payment holiday, given that building-based day services have not been able to resume yet.”
