TRANSPORT for the North has scooped a prestigious industry award after it drew-up a 30-year vision for investment across the region.
The body received the Transport Planning accolade in the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation Awards.
Transport for the North’s strategic plan sets out how world-class transport would support economic growth and lead to improved opportunities for all.
Judges described the entry as “an outstanding project with a clear vision”.
Barry White, chief executive of Transport for the North, said he was delighted with the award.
He added: “ It is a credit to the collaborative effort of our members, partners and colleagues, who all worked tirelessly to deliver the plan.”
