FANS of John Bishop have the chance to see the comedy star in an intimate venue as part of a series of warm-ups for his upcoming tour.

The Liverpudlian comic and former Royal Variety Performance host plans to be at St George’s Hall in Bradford on September 22 in preparation for his eighth stand-up show.

John had a career in the medical industry before performing stand-up in Manchester for the first time in 2000.

The 53-year-old, known for his observational humour, went on to win awards around the north west and had major recognition in 2010 with the Best Male Comedy Breakthrough Artist accolade at the British Comedy Awards.

Since then John has achieved huge success with his own shows and documentaries such as John Bishop’s Australia, John Bishop’s Britain and The John Bishop Show. He has also hosted the Royal Variety Performance.

John is also known for his charity work. Close to home he is a patron of Children’s Adventure Farm Trust in Millington while his epic 290-mile triathlon from Paris to London in 2012 raised £4.2million for Sport Relief.

More recently John hosted a comedy gig at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

On TV this year, John will host a new topical entertainment series in which he will take a look back at the week’s events in his own inimitable style. During the show he’ll be joined by guests, to dissect the news of the week in a lighthearted way.
