A TOTAL of eighteen patients have now died at Airedale General Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England issued a statement this afternoon confirming the number of deaths.

In England a further 828 people have died since yesterday's update, bringing the total in England to 6,483.

Nationally 936 more deaths were reported, pushing the total cases in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland combined to 7,095.

In England, patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old and 46 of the 828 patients (aged between 35 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.

No data relating to the number of those currently being treated in Airedale or who have been cared for and recovered has yet been released.

Bradford Royal Infirmary has confirmed a total of 25 deaths to date.

Of the reported deaths announced today, 101 occurred in the North East and Yorkshire.
