GENEROUS businesses have been praised for rallying round to help those in need during the coronavirus crisis.

Firms including Morrisons – which has a store in Worth Way, Keighley – plus Bradford Council’s markets service are providing extra support as hundreds of food parcels are delivered to householders on the NHS shielded patients list.

Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, the council’s executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, said: “We are doing all we can to help stop the spread of coronavirus in the district and support those most in need.

“I want to extend a big thank-you to the businesses which, even though they are facing difficult and uncertain times due to the impact of coronavirus on them and their staff, have shown the very best of Bradford district.

“Without the support of these businesses and wonderful volunteers, the distribution of food parcels would have been an even greater task. If any other businesses in the district are able to offer help, we would be most grateful – e-mail parcelsbfd@bradford.gov.uk.”
