AGE UK Bradford District has joined forces with other charities to press the Government for urgent funding and support during the coronavirus crisis.

Over 300 MPs and lords have also given their backing, signing a call to the Chancellor for help to be provided to charities playing a crucial role during the emergency.

Mark Rounding, chief executive of Age UK Bradford District, said: “Charities need support now. I’ve written to local MPs to outline the financial impact of COVID-19 on ourselves and to ask for their support to get the help all charities need to deliver vital assistance to people and communities.”

Age UK Bradford District, which is dependent on community support for much of its income, is set to lose over £300,000 in the next six months. Mr Rounding added: “Our staff and volunteers are working hard and under challenging circumstances, providing vital support and information to some of the most vulnerable people in society at this incredibly difficult time.” To offer support, call 01274 391190 or visit ageuk.org.uk/bradforddistrict.
