LOCAL Chartered Accountants Wilkinson and Partners are embracing technology to deliver free tax advice sessions to people in their own homes and offices.

Branded as ‘free tax clinics’, these one-to-one sessions are designed to help local business owners understand announcements from the recent Spring Budget. The sessions can also be used to discuss the support measures being provided by the government for businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Initially these clinics were set to be held at the firm’s Ilkley or Bingley offices. However, with the COVID-19 lockdown now in place, Wilkinson and Partners are encouraging local business owners to contact them via live video calls or phone calls.

The clinics will give ‘attendees’ the opportunities to find out about various matters announced in the Budget, including changes in entrepreneurs’ relief, pension tax allowances, top slicing reliefs on insurance policy gains, business and company car tax, NIC and employment allowances.

In addition to these tax related changes announced in the budget, Wilkinson and Partners are happy to discuss the measures the Government is putting in place to support businesses who are affected by COVID-19.

Each clinic lasts approximately one hour and will be carried out by one of the firm’s Partners. Anyone wishing to book a free clinic must contact the firm to book a session so that they can be issued with a link to the video meeting website. If video conferencing is not an option, the Partners are happy to call local business owners instead.

The free tax clinics will be held throughout April and anyone wishing to attend must book an appointment first. Further details can be found under the ‘Firm News’ section on the firm’s website at www.wilkinson-partners.co.uk.

To book, call the Ilkley office on 01943 817045 or the Bingley office on 01274 518200 or email office@wilkinson-partners.co.uk.
