A COMEBACK gig by a Keighley band from the early 1980s has been postponed from April 10 to the autumn.

Teenage and the Wildlife were due to reform to play alongside fellow eighties outfit The Elements who themselves reformed last year.

After Covid-19 put a stop to upcoming events in Keighley, the band members started looking at September dates at the town's Exchange venue.

Elements musician Trotwood said: "Although the future is uncertain, we are looking at dates in September. Hopefully things will slowly return to normal. Refunds can be got at the point-of-purchase, otherwise tickets you will be valid for the rescheduled show."

Teenage and the Wildlife formed in the early 1980s and split after four years, with leading members Tronk and Dazz going on to form the Big Bang with Stan Greenwood.

The Big Bang continued for for around two decades, going through the various line-ups and eventually becoming a hugely popular 1960s covers band.

Meanwhile Dazz performed Wreckheads, the Garage Rebels, Buddy Wolf & The Misdemeanours, Buddy Wolf Urban Bluesman, The Holy Smokes and Campfire Social.

Tronk, alias Andy Stronach, went on to play with Montague and for the past 19 years Irish band Rakish Paddy.

The other two Teenage and the Wildlife members Dale Kitson and Steve Riley became popular 1980s pop-rock duo Lively Arts.

Dale went on to join the next characters before joining former Single File drummer Roger Kirby in Talking To Myself, Blondel, and most recently rock 'n' roll trio Blue Suede Dudes.

The current line-up of Teenage and the Wildlife are Dazz on vocals, Dale Kitson on guitar, Tronk on bass, and Roger Kirby on drums.
