WEST Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson has received recognition for the information posted on his website.

He has been awarded a Transparency Quality Mark for his publication on the site of “key decisions, financial information and policies”.

The award is from Comparing Police and Crime Commissioners, which shares best practice.

Mr Burns-Williamson said: “I am delighted to have been awarded this quality mark on behalf of the office.

“Being open and transparent is a key element of the police and crime commissioner role and something that I take very seriously.

“I also welcomed the introduction this year of an ease-of-use assessment.

“I want my website to be accessible and easy to use for the communities I serve, so it’s pleasing to receive recognition that myself and the office are on the right track.”
