BRADFORD Council has announced it will begin a rates relief programme designed to lift the economic burden of the national coronavirus response.
Eligible businesses in the district will soon receive a letter advising them that the authority will not be seeking business rates payments for the next few months.
The council is working with partners, including the Government, on a range of further support measures in a bid to help as many businesses survive the unprecedented economic pressures caused by the coronavirus.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, leader of Bradford Council, said: “We understand this is an extremely stressful and difficult time for businesses and employees and we are working all hours to do everything we can to help people weather the current economic climate. As soon as we have details confirmed by Government we will get the support in place as speedily as possible. I know how much businesses need this financial support.”
