INGROW woman Donna Hurt is making cuddly koalas to raise money for real koalas injured in the Australian bushfires.

She makes little koalas out of material to sell for £8 each, with £6 going to the Adelaide Koala and Wildlife Hospital Fund.

She raised £1,500 with her first fundraiser for the hospital and has now launched a second, already raising £200 towards her £500 target.

Donna said: "After the horrendous bush fires I put a post up on Facebook and sold over 70 in the first two hours.

"I have spent every spare minute making these and have made over 300, and so far raised £1,734 for the charity.

"People's contributions will make an impact, whether they donate a little or a lot.

"The charity is based in Plympton, South Australia, and rescues koalas, caring for them and returning them to their homes."
