EARLY morning snow caused chaos across Keighley today with bus cancellations, traffic delays and school closures.

The Keighley Bus Company cancelled or suspended several well-used services due to unsafe road conditions.

At around 11am it tweeted that its KeighleyJets K2/K3 were now able to reach all their stops. The KeighleyJets K10 was also running again.

The 11.20am 62 from Keighley he is biw able to serve all stops, including Leeds Bradford Airport, and the first 62 from Leeds Bradford Airport to Keighley will leave at 1.13pm.

About an hour ago, the 62 was unable to reach The Fox in Menston and Menston train station due to a fallen tree.

At 7.30pm the company had warned on Twitter that it was not running the services 67, BronteBus B1, B2, B3 and KeighleyJets K7.

At around 8.30am the company reported delays of 30 minutes on the Dalesway and Shuttle services and 50 minutes on the Aireline.

The 62 bus was running between Keighley, Ilkley and Otley – with delays of up to 20 minutes – and was not serving Leeds and Bradford airport.

Parkside, Oakworth and Oldfield Schools decided not to open today due to snow, according to Bradford Schools Schools online, part of the Bradford Council's website.

The website reported that several local schools would not open until between 9.30am and 10.30am to allow staff to arrive and make the school safe.

These included Nessfield, Oakbank, Beechliffe, Eastburn, East Morton, Cullingworth, Harden, Holycroft, Ingrow, Laycock,, Long Lee, Crossflatts, Parkwood, Riddlesden St Mary's, Victoria, and Strong Close Nursery.

Holy Family School is due to open at 11am.

There is traffic queueing on the Aire Valley Road at Bingley with 16 minute delays, and six-minute delays on the A629 at Keighley. The traffic is easing on the A650 Hard Ings Road at Keighley.

Keighley Road at Cross Hills and the a629 at Haworth were impassable two hours ago.
