BEAUTIFUL The Carole King Musical returns to West Yorkshire again with its host of 1960s and 1970s hits.

Bradford Alhambra will host the feelgood show from March 3-7 with songs like Take Good Care of My Baby, You’ve Got a Friend, So Far Away, Up on the Roof and The Locomotion.

Long before Carole King became a chart-topping singing legend, she was an ordinary girl with an extraordinary talent.

The musical tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann.

The show follows King as she becomes one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history, along the way writing the soundtrack to a generation, including one of the bestselling albums of all time, Tapestry.

Daisy Wood-Davis is playing Carole King in the current touring production, with Vicki Manser playing the title character at some performances.

Also appearing are Adam Gillian as King’s husband and songwriting partner Gerry Goffin, Laura Baldwin as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Cameron Sharp as song-writer Barry Mann, Susie Fenwick as King’s mother Genie Klein and Oliver Boot as music publisher and producer Donnie Kirshner.

Coming up at Bradford Alhambra is Cuban company Acosta Danza with their latest show Revolution featuring new and existing works, on March 13 and 14.

These include Rooster, choreographed to Rolling Stones music, and Impronta which was created by Spanish choreographer Maria Rovira.
