THE GURU Guru will headline at Keighley's Exchange on February 25, with support from Trigger Thumb.

A spokesman said: "Belgium-based math prog rock outfit the Guru Guru are one of our favourite bands to play The Exchange and we're all giddy to welcome them back!

"Imagine lead vocals wearing a multicolored strait-jacket, haunted by feverish guitars and a tormented rhythm section. Influences are drawn from the likes of METZ, Pere Ubu, Deerhoof, The Jesus Lizard, The Mars Volta and Andy Kaufman."

Playing on February 28, Mik Artistik is a poet, performer, artist and comedian, travelling from city to city, frightening and delighting adults and children.

The spokesman added: "Mik Artistik spouts lyrics, throws straws, and generally amuses himself, over the top of an exquisite layer of rock, soul, and punk created by partner in crime Jonny Flockton on guitar, a drum machine ,and one of a crack squad of bass players.

"The cult band have delighted and unnerved Glastonbury audiences for over ten years gaining more devoted followers."

Lovehunter is a Whitesnake tribute act performing on February 29, and there'll be more heavy rock from Backstreet Thunder with their tribute to the band Thunder on March 7. More tribute rock from Metal Militia on April 25

The spokesman added: "Metal Militia are regarded as one of the closest and most accurate tributes to one of the greatest metal bands in history.

"From the Durham area, they have established themselves as a top-ranking and insanely popular tribute to Metallica. They have topped the bill at many of the biggest tribute festivals in the country including the likes of rock Legends in Newcastle."
